Scope of work
People Legal regularly helps both people and businesses.
We are a niche employment law practice based in Cheshire, England. Our objective is to provide people and businesses with the same quality of legal service that they would expect from a national or international law firm, at an affordable price.
We try to adopt a more modern approach to legal services. For example, clients will be able to arrange appointments online and their key documents, together with case updates, will be accessible 24/7 via a secure client portal. For individuals we offer a free legal advice clinic and apply a range of different funding options, including various “no win no fee” schemes.
We have experience of working with people and businesses from a broad range of sectors including aviation, transport, energy, retail, financial services, recruitment, pharmaceutical, beauty, education and sport. Our work includes bringing and defending complex and high value claims for discrimination and whistleblowing. One of our particular specialisms involves managing “class actions” in the Employment Tribunal.
We can help you with:
- Advising about disciplinary/dismissal processes
- Advising about employment related complaints/grievances
- Advising about equality and whistleblowing
- Advice and support with the ACAS early conciliation process
- Negotiating settlements
- Advice and representation with Employment Tribunal claims (including advocacy)
- Conducting investigations into disciplinary and grievance matters
- Advising about employment risks associated with business changes (outsourcings, insourcings etc) and acquisitions
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts of employment and service agreements
- Drafting, reviewing, advising about and negotiating settlement agreements
